Edward Sczudlo
Founder and executive director of The Maitri Project, producer and co-director of Rise of the Geshe-Ma, and a practitioner and teacher working at the meeting point of Tibetan Buddhism, Hatha Yoga, contemplative practice, film, and photography.
Building support for the people who keep wisdom alive
Edward Sczudlo founded The Maitri Project to support monastics, female Geshe-mas, schools, and practitioners in communities where essential resources are scarce. As executive director, his work connects the organization's direct relationships with its programs in education, housing, healthcare, food security, emergency relief, and meditation retreat.
Edward also works through documentary film and photography to make the lives and traditions behind these programs visible. He is producer and co-director of Rise of the Geshe-Ma, a film about the women completing Tibetan Buddhism's highest scholarly training, and his photography has documented Buddhist cultural and preservation work in Nepal.
His teaching background brings together more than fifteen years of Hatha Yoga with Vajrayana Buddhist practice, including work with breath, subtle-body awareness, consciousness, ethics, and meditation.
